Motion Controller
【CINETICS Axis360】
In 2015 on the Dragon frame website, there was some information about a motion controller compatible with the software (that article has since been removed).
At that time, we unfortunately opted for the least expensive model since it was built for fieldwork and had some level of accuracy. In the end, we got the motor and controller and built the slider rail in house.
In addition to horizontally, the motion controller can also slide vertically for a total of 60cm. In this case, we counterbalance the weight of the camera to safely use both camera and rail vertically. Although it’s only moveable on one axis, you can also shoot ‘rolls’ with this motion controller. Real time shots cannot be taken.
In 2018 the CineMoco controller (motor controller) broke. Unfortunately, we were unable to replace it and to get it repaired was also quite expensive, so we also made a version for ourselves in-house.
Referencing the Arduino Uno information on the Dragon frame website, we acquired and began using the Big Easy Driver stepping motor driver.
