We have various sizes of box horses, that we use when filming miniature sets. The sizes of these wooden boxes are based on those commonly used in carpentry here in Japan (e.g.,1 shaku 5 sun x 1 shaku 5 sun*).
*Shaku & sun refers to lengths traditional used by carpenters. 1 shaku is 30.3cm, 1 sun is 3.03cm

Usually when filming, we use a box horse comparative to the size of the set. We also have smaller box horses for shooting very small miniatures, even though we don’t normally use them.
